The Gypsy Vanner Horse was the horse of the Gypsies in Great Britain. They were first imported to the USA in 1996 and the breed was established by the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society. These magnificent horses with gorgeous manes, tails, and feathered legs were originally bred to pull the Gypsy caravans.  Vanners were bred for their quiet and friendly temperament as well as athleticism, size, and color. Today, these versatile horses are used in all disciplines. With all the Vanner has to offer, it is no wonder that they are quickly becoming a very popular horse breed.

Vanners are light drafts and are typically 14-16 hands. They are known for their gorgeous Fabio hair and amazing temperaments. Temperament is even part of the breed standard. These horses are not only judged in halter for their conformation but also their movement. Today, you will see them used in every equestrian discipline.

We are proud to add the Gypsy Vanner Horse to our equestrian lifestyle here at ROCKIN JM.  (The horse pictured above is THF Boomerang in the first 3 pictures and is the sire of our own WS Task Ta Boom. He is a 5 star rated stallion.)
